Iggy Azalea doesn’t care if you don’t think she’s the realest.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the rapper opens up about her post-“Fancy” life (“I have to be very selective when I grocery shop”) and debunks sex tape rumors (“I would remember if I had a sex tape”). But most interestingly, she also responds to the kind of criticism she’s received from artists such as Azealia Banks: Iggy Azalea doesn’t acknowledge the way white privilege lets her selectively borrow from black culture and reap all the benefits (or, at least, Grammy nominations).

“Well, they don’t say that stuff about Macklemore,” Azalea tells Vanity Fair. “So, yes, I think it has 100,000 percent to do with the fact that I have a vagina.” She’s not entirely right: Macklemore does deal with similar criticism. But Azalea also frequently faces debates about her authenticity, ghostwriting rumors and charges of being “fake” — an accusation that’s more often lobbed at female artists than male ones. (Rapping in an exaggerated southern drawl that’s quite different from her relatively soft-spoken Australian voice, however, certainly does little to discourage those complaints.)

“People have said I’m not real rap or real hip-hop,” Azalea says, “but I don’t care if people think I’m pop or rap. Everyone interprets music differently.”

Between tireless charity work and preparing to give birth to her second child, Shakira has been working on a new album–and she reportedly has some MAJOR collaborations in the pipeline to ensure that it’s a massive hit.

According to one of Spain’s largest newspapers El Mundo, Shakira has recorded with Mexican rock legends Maná, reunited with La Tortura collaborator Alejandro Sanz, and has even collaborated with none other than Iggy Azalea.

Shakira previously confirmed that her next album will be all Spanish, but there’s no word yet on whether Iggy will swap her manufactured Southern drawl for a caliente accent for their song together.

Perhaps the Iggy track will be the lone bilingual crossover single on the album, while the rest of the tracks will be geared towards Latin listeners?

Shakira’s previous collaborations with sexy singers from the urban-pop field, like Rihanna and Beyonce, have proven to be quite successful in the past, so a song with Iggy should be a guaranteed hit.

Anyway, don’t expect new Shakira music for at least a few months–she still needs to give birth first!

Iggy Azalea and Ariana Grande are thankful for their fans and how much they’ve helped them over the past year.

The rapper has had an amazing 2014, topping the charts with hits like Fancy and Problem and finding herself nominated for four Grammys.

While she’s excited about the next 12 months, there is one thing she’ll never be able to tick off her list.

“Hi! Hope everyone enjoyed themselves last night! 2015 is finally here! That’s the year visited in back 2 the future… We made it! Lol,” she wrote to her Twitter followers.

“It’s also the year I turn 25…. why does life travel so fast, just yesterday I was on a mission to be a child mastermind at something. (sic)”

Iggy teamed up with 21-year-old Ariana Grande on Problem. The young star has been hailed the next Mariah Carey and is also up for two Grammys this year.

However, 2014 also saw her dogged by rumours she’s turned into a bit of a diva. Luckily, she’s looking on the bright side.

“hope i’m not too late to say this but just wanna thank you 1 more time from the bottom of my heart for making 2014 so special!! a dream. Ily,” she told her fans on Twitter.

“even tho there were some difficult moments i’m very appreciative of the love u continuously show. u make everything better 🙂 really love u (sic)”

Also celebrating last year is Lady Gaga, who made the move from pop into jazz with the help of singing legend Tony Bennett. And luckily she’s also had some designer friends on hand to make sure she starts 2015 off in style.

Iggy Azalea has revealed that she has been diagnosed with Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ).

The rapper has now resolved to avoid drama to prevent her condition from becoming worse, taking to Twitter to update her followers.

Azalea, who released her debut album The New Classic last year, said that she will take better care of herself in 2015 and try to avoid stress.

“I’m gonna make more of an effort to take care of myself in 2015, stay away from all the drama & hopefully not have any flair ups,” she said.

“Also last month I was diagnosed with TMJ which isn’t the best.”

She added that she thinks her condition may have been exacerbated by stress and wrote that medicine does not always help people to deal with such things.

“I don’t think western medicine all the way acknowledges what a huge toll mental stress takes on our bodies,” she wrote. “But I do believe it is a factor.

“Anyhow I don’t think it will ever prevent me from doing anything I want to but it has made me realise it’s important to look after yourself.”

After finally addressing her detractors on Twitter in the ongoing race in hip-hop/Azealia Banks feud, Azalea finally addressed the big musical “elephant in the room”: what happened to “Beg For It” and the planned music video?
According to Azalea, her schedule and the constant Jingle Ball concerts clogged up her time, and she was unable to shoot a video due to poor planning.
But fans of Azalea need not worry too much – she isn’t scrapping promotions for Reclassified totally. She’s prepping her next single, “Trouble” featuring Jennifer Hudson as her next promotional track.
“gotta move to trouble jingleball made it incredibly hard to do anything else this month. it seems like i missed the window,” Azalea wrote to Twitter fan @QuintaleAzalea.

As some fans on OhNoTheyDidnt have speculated, scrapping a music video for “Beg For It” may not have been wholly a matter of scheduling. There was a lot of controversy and bad press surrounding the single after a disastrous performance on Saturday Night Live earlier this season, when backing tracks for MO overpowered her live vocals and she missed all her marks.
“Beg For It” has been a modest success for Azalea. After eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, the song currently sits at No. 28, just two spots above her previous single “Black Widow” (feat. Rita Ora).

“The more, the merrier” certainly does not apply in the feud between Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks.
After Q-Tip weighed in on the hip-hop artists’ on-going feud over the past weekend, T.I. decided to lend his opinion on the matter, which essentially favored Iggy over the “212” rapper. The Paperwork artist took to Twitter like everybody else to voice his thoughts, and posted a series of tweets that examined the history of hip-hop, Iggy’s place in it and even the cultural phenomenon of “white people” earning their place in the genre.
“…white people who were inspired by our culture allowed ME TO SEE, that not all white people out to steal our culture..” he writes, adding, “There are some that merely wish to contribute to it. And I’d be less than ME if I didn’t say that… If WE don’t allow u guys the same… …rights & respect we KNOW WE DESERVE in other areas of humanity… WE’RE ALL JUST A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES. AND THATS NOT HIP HOP!!!!”
