Iggy Azalea has clapped back at Eminem after he called her a ‘ho’ on his latest diss track ‘Killshot’.

The song has been the centre of much attention. It is the latest stage of a feud between Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly, but uses Azalea’s name to take a swipe at Kelly.

On the track, Eminem raps: ‘You ain’t never made a list next to no Biggy, no Jay, next to Taylor Swift and that Iggy ho, you about to really blow.’

And that’s my unbiased opinion from a girl that watched this guys set and sung the words in the crowd. I’d think it regardless.
One of the greatest to do it, I’m NOT in dispute about that. But I do think the name dropping thing has become a crotch.

Iggy Azalea’s career tangent has been a strange one to watch, but she seems to be back on the upswing after tasting success with her No. 1 hit “Fancy” only to fail to keep up the momentum. After dropping an EP worth of sweaty, danceable west coast-leaning rap, she’s showed up on the remix to “In A Haze,” putting her back in the EDM realm she flirted with on her debut album. The collaboration with Swedish duo Total Ape first came to Iggy after Camila Cabello passed on it for her debut album, though when Survive The Summer made its way out, the single was nowhere to be found (it has been available in leaked demo form for some time). As it turns out, this remix is where the track will live, as a single from Total Ape rather than Iggy, but the rapper still has a considerable presence on it. Could it be another Hot 100 hit for the rapper? We’ll have to wait and see.

Whether it’s Azelia Banks labelling her “Satan in the form of mayonnaise” – or people claiming she appropriates African American speech – the Australian rapper’s relationship with racial politics has been fraught at best.
Things have once again come to a head following a recent interview with GQ. During the interview, the singer said discussions about her privilege are a “rough conversation”.

“I understand that in America there is institutionalised racism and there is privilege that comes with the colour of your skin,” she said. “That’s real. I grew up in a situation that didn’t involve any privilege and I worked really hard.

“A lot of my childhood is overlooked. People assume they know my life because Australia is a nice, beautiful country. It’s tough because I want you to acknowledge my work and that this wasn’t easy, but I also don’t want to detract from or trvialise any people of colours’ position because that’s also legitimate.”

The rapper said she grew up “dirt poor” cleaning hotel rooms with her mother and also discussed the “male-dominated” world of hip-hop. The interview comes as the popstar attempts to rehabilitate her image ahead of her serially-delayed second studio album.

Her latest single, Saviour, received some positive reviews but failed to make the charts in Australia and America.

The interview has caused backlash online, with people not taking kindly to Azalea claiming she grew up without privilege. American hip-hop artist Talib Kweli, among others, took to Instagram to slam the singer.

Last year wasn’t the easiest one for Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. The artist endured numerous setbacks, including an announcement of a tentative drop date (Jun. 30) for her sophomore album Digital Distortion, only to have it scrapped. The album also reportedly leaked in June last year, amid a frustrated tirade of Snapchats and Tweets from Iggy Iggs.

With the past in the rear view mirror however, Azalea looks to be jumping into 2018 with a kick start. The “Team” rapper announced a new single, “Savior,” on Tuesday (Jan. 9) featuring the red-hot Quavo of Migos. At a conference for Monster Products, the Aussie rapper announced she will be debuting the new single in a Super Bowl Commercial for Monster. In a clip on Twitter of the press conference, Azalea gave the new tune a release date, saying it will drop “around February 1st.”

In a reply to a fan on Twitter on Nov. 7, Iggy let the world know that the album would be renamed Surviving The Summer. She also gave long-waiting fans a taste of what is to come, dropping four tracks, all produced by Ljay Currie.

Check out the clip and Tweets below.
