After enduring a rough year punctuated by a canceled tour, celebrity disses, and public outcry that forced her to back out of a scheduled performance at a Pittsburgh Pride event, rapper Iggy Azalea told radio host Zach Sang that she considered withdrawing from the public eye.
“I thought about quitting life,” the Australian artist said, but quickly noted that her love for making music kept her going. “It’s my whole life. This is what I do. I’ve been rapping since I was 14, and this is all that I know. It’s what my gift is, whether you think I’m talented or not. I don’t know any other job and I’m not interested in any other job.”
Still, Azalea said intends to try her hand at TV production in the near future. “I started a production company, and I bought the rights to a couple of books that I really like, and also some television shows from Australia,” she told Sang. “I talked to BBC Australia about some [kids shows] that I really believed in and was a fan of when I was a kid, and I had some ideas to rework [them].”
Azalea said she plans to put the past behind her for a fresh start in 2016, a year that already includes a new single, “TEAM,” from her upcoming album, Digital Distortion, which she has worked on with pop star Bebe Rexha, among others. “We live in this world of technology and social media, [and] you might have somebody else tell a narrative or story about you online that isn’t factual, or maybe you might be representing yourself in away that isn’t 100 percent accurate,” she said of the album’s inspiration. “Unfortunately, we don’t have control over our digital narratives at all.”

Iggy Azalea was stopped by paparazzi recently and was asked about where she’d raise her future kids with fiancé Nick Young — in her native Australia or his home, America.
Unsurprisingly, the rapper, 25, said both — explaining that she would want to raise her kids in Hollywood but have them spend summers down under!
That said, she made it pretty this isn’t exactly an immediate plan!
When asked if she’s having kids soon, she joked, “I hope not!”

TweetIggy Azalea agrees with some of the issues detailed in Macklemore’s “White Privilege II.” When TMZ cameras caught up with the “Fancy” hitmaker at Los Angeles International Airport, the Australian rapper didn’t offer details, but says she co-signed some of the content in the racially charged track, just “not the bad stuff about me.”
On “White Privilege II,” Macklemore name-checked Iggy as well as Miley Cyrus and Elvis Presley. “You’ve exploited and stolen the music, the moment/ The magic, the passion, the fashion, you toy with/ The culture was never yours to make better/ You’re Miley, you’re Elvis, you’re Iggy Azalea,” he raps.
Azalea then responded to a fan on Twitter who asked if she had heard the track, saying, “He shouldnt have spent the last 3 yrs having friendly convos and taking pictures together at events etc if those were his feelings.” (The response also sent Brooklyn rapper Talib Kweli firing off tweets.)
She then joked to TMZ that she sent Macklemore a message via carrier pigeon when asked if she had spoken to the “Thrift Shop” MC before offering this response to an inquiry about “white people borrowing from black culture.”
“I think all culture takes from all culture,” Iggy said. “We’re so global now, I think it’s impossible for everybody not to take influence from everybody.”
Azalea is currently working on her forthcoming studio effort Digital Distortion, led by the single “Azillion.”

The single titled “Team” doesn’t have an official release date just yet, but Iggy answered questions about the track with fans on Twitter, along with giving the snippet of what kind of musical creation we can expect from her in the coming year.
