Digital Distortion, Iggy Azalea‘s forthcoming second album, sounds like it will, indeed, shake things up.
Azalea, who announced the name of her sophomore EP in October, shared a few related updates with fans very early this morning (December 17). Among them: She’s…singing? Sounds like a pretty significant departure from I-G-G-Y as we know her…
“I ended up writing some last minute hooks with @beberexha and her writing partner a few days last week and really enjoyed my time,” she wrote. “she also convinced me to ugly-sing and it turned out great. i felt very out of my comfort zone, which is always when the good stuff happens.”
And though Iggy’s been keeping details surrounding Digital Distortion quiet, at least one person has been privy to her new tracks.

“I have played (give or take a few small changes) my album to [Charlamagne Tha God] who kindly came and listened to it,” Iggy noted. “He was surprised i had been working and not crying in a fetal position on my couch. i told him i did do a bit of that this year…He seemed to understand a lot of the direction, and gave me honest feedback. I feel good about it..”
Oh, and she’s going to ~FRANCE~!

The Iggy Azalea and Erykah Badu back-and-forth has been an interesting one.

It all started at The Soul Train Awards, when host Erykah Badu said Iggy could participate in the non-rap show because she “definitely” doesn’t do hip-hop.

Then, Iggy seemed to reply by claiming that people discredit her accomplishments. Even if it wasn’t a reply, Erykah quoted that, and said she would never send an Uber for Iggy again.

It didn’t end there. Yesterday, Badu posted this message about her 11 and 6-year-old daughters, Puma and Mars, on Twitter:

We haven’t heard a peep from Iggy Azalea’s Twitter since Nov. 1, but that all changed Tuesday night.

The “Fancy” rapper took to the social media platform to respond to Erykah Badu’s diss from the Soul Train Awards Sunday. But what started as a simple tweet addressing Badu’s jab quickly turned into a rant in which Azalea addressed the delay in her own music and the health of one of her horses.

“We are days from 2016, but i came online today and saw its still cool to try and discredit my 2014 accomplishments. LOL,” she tweeted. “F–king hell. Seems exhausting. Anyway – Ive been enjoying the holiday season and i hope you all have too.”

The feud began when Badu used her opening monologue to address issues she has with the Soul Train Awards, the main one being the fact that rap is “banned” from being honored. While on stage she pretended to call artists she wanted to invite to the awards show, including Azalea.

“Uh yes? Who is this? Iggy Azalea?” she said. “Yeah, hey. Oh, no, no, no, no, you can come, ’cause what you doin’ is definitely not rap.”

The Internet exploded with memes of Azalea’s potential facial expression upon hearing the joke, but she didn’t address it until last night. Finally returning to social media, Azalea continued to give information to her fans and followers.

“I dont really know what im doing with my music release; but im finished (except for getting the features recorded),” she continued. “Right now i live in america and am very close to the Def Jam team; but im actually signed out of the UK. Things are complicated.”

Azalea added that she’s “ready” with her music but has to “restructure some things to work smoother and better…” She noted that the changes to her record would probably take a few weeks, so fans should sit tight for a little while longer.
Taking advantage of her short return to social media, the “Black Widow” performer also revealed that one of her horses might have Lyme disease. “So im a little heart broken but still hopeful about things,” she started to end her rant. “Defender is doing fine and has been consoling me. lol.”
The Aussie performer’s return to Twitter was short-lived. She ended her series of tweets by telling fans she wouldn’t be back until 2016 unless she had any major updates to share.

ABC provided television press with a lineup that confirmed Iggy Azalea for the November 20 “Good Morning America.” The same confirmation appeared in listings issued to television providers.

Despite the listings, neither “Good Morning America” nor Azalea had confirmed the performance on their social media accounts. Speculation emerged, therefore, that the performance was no longer scheduled.

A “GMA” staffer seemingly confirmed that unfortunate news. Responding to a Thursday inquiry on Twitter, “GMA” social media editor Jeff Lowe wrote, “As of now she isn’t scheduled to perform tomorrow.”

When asked why she was originally listed, he responded, “probably was originally slated to perform. Scheduling changes a lot in tv.” He acknowledged that he had no further details on the situation.

While a surprise Azalea performance is certainly still possible, one should be aware of the possibility that the performance has been nixed.

A stacked, action-packed, celebratory week of “Good Morning America” will include a performance by Iggy Azalea.

Per ABC’s official listings, Azalea will perform on the November 20 edition of its popular morning show. The episode will also feature appearances by “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2” stars Natalie Dormer and Sam Claflin, a preview of Jim Henson’s “Turkey Hollow,” and “Shark Tank Friday” with Barbara Corcoran.

Earlier in the week, “GMA” will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a 40-hour, continuous broadcast entitled “40 for 40.” The special will begin at 5PM ET on Tuesday, November 17.

The Wednesday morning portion of the broadcast will feature appearances by Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Donald Sutherland, and “Mockingjay: Part 2” director Francis Lawrence. It will also play host to a special One Direction concert.

Why does this irk me so much?

Iggy Azalea’s fiancé and Los Angeles Lakers player Nick Young decided to dress up as something, erm, cocky for Halloween this year: God’s Gift to Women. To pull off this forward-as-hell get-up, Nick wrapped himself as a literal present—red bow and all—and addressed the ensemble “To: Women/From: God.”

I’m not an idiot. The costume is supposed to be funny. It’s kitschy, and I’m sure Nick did it with the best intentions. He isn’t pushing any type of womanizing agenda, and I know Iggy has nothing to actually raise her eyebrows about. This is harmless.
